Effect of Urea–Formaldehyde Resin–Coated Colour–Change Powder Microcapsules on Performance of Waterborne Coatings for Wood Surfaces

Microcapsules have received a great deal of attention from researchers due to their excellent properties, and are commonly prepared by interfacial in situ polymerisation methods. In is an important method microcapsule preparation, which has number advantages such as low cost suitability for industrial production. The results show that content increases, colour–change effect coating gradually becomes obvious amount change b–value representing yellow hue increases. As increased 1.0% 13.0%, 0.7 2.6. gloss film decreased significantly with increase powder, highest at 1.0%. impact resistance was also influenced topcoat, best 5.0%, level 2 adhesion 1.0%–5.0% 11.0%–13.0%, 1 7.0% 9.0%. terms 5.0% overall performance topcoats. furniture applications, paper can colour appearance according actual temperature play decorative role.
